Christina Aguilera - Beautiful

Don't look at me

Everyday is so wonderful

Then suddenly
It's hard to breathe
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain
I'm so ashamed

I am beautiful

No matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful
In every single way
Yes words can't bring me down
Oh no
So don't you bring me down today

To all your friends you're delirious

So consumed
In all your doom, ooh
Trying hard to fill the emptiness
The pieces gone
Left the puzzle undone
Ain't that the way it is

You're beautiful

No matter what they say
Words can't bring you down
Oh no
You're beautiful
In every single way
Yes words can't bring you down
Oh no
So don't you bring me down today

No matter what we do

(No matter what we do)
No matter what we say
(No matter what we say)
We're the song inside the tune
(Yeah, oh yeah)
Full of beautiful mistakes

And everywhere we go
(And everywhere we go)
The sun will always shine
(The sun will always, always, shine)
And tomorrow we might awake
On the other side

We're beautiful

No matter what they say
Yes words won't bring us down
Oh no
We are beautiful
In every single way
Yes words can't bring us down
Oh no
So don't you bring me down today

Oh, oh

Don't you bring me down today
Don't you bring me down, ooh
Today

Keri Hilson - Pretty Girl Rock

I can do the pretty girl rock, rock
Rock to the pretty girl rock, rock, rock
Now, what's your name?

My name is Keri, I'm so very
Fly oh my, it's a little bit scary
Boys wanna marry, looking at my deri
Aye, you can stare, but if you touch it, then I'ma bury

Pretty as a picture sweeter than a swisher
Mad 'cause I'm cuter than the girl that is with ya
I can talk about it 'cause I know that I'm pretty
If you know it too, then ladies sing it with me

My name is Keri, I'm so very
Fly oh my, it's a little bit scary
Boys wanna marry, looking at my deri
Aye, you can stare, but if you touch it, then I'ma bury

Pretty as a picture sweeter than a swisher
Mad 'cause I'm cuter than the girl that is with ya
I can talk about it 'cause I know that I'm pretty
If you know it too, then ladies sing it with me

All eyes on me when I walk in
No question that this girl's a 10
Don't hate me 'cause I'm beautiful
Don't hate me 'cause I'm beautiful

My walk, my talk, the way I dress
It's not my fault, so please don't trip

Mika - Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)

Big girl you are beautiful

Walks in to the room
Feels like a big balloon
I said, 'Hey girls you are beautiful'
Diet coke and a pizza please
Diet coke I'm on my knees
Screaming 'Big girl you are beautiful'

You take your skinny girls
Feel like I'm gonna die
'Cause a real woman
Needs a real man here's why

You take your girl
And multiply her by four
Now a whole lot of woman
Needs a whole lot more

Get yourself to the Butterfly Lounge
Find yourself a big lady
Big boy come on around
And they'll be calling you baby

No need to fantasize
Since I was in my braces
A watering hole
With the girls around
And curves in all the right places

Cyndi Lauper - True Colours

You with the sad eyes
Don't be discouraged
Oh I realize
Its hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
And the darkness inside you
Can make you feel so small

But I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful,
Like a rainbow

Show me a smile then,
Don't be unhappy, can't remember
When I last saw you laughing
If this world makes you crazy
And you've taken all you can bear
You call me up
Because you know I'll be there

And I'll see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful,
Like a rainbow

(When I last saw you laughing)
If this world makes you crazy
And you've taken all you can bear
You call me up
Because you know I'll be there

And I'll see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show

Your true colors
True colors
True colors
Shining through

I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful,
Like a rainbow

Urban Dictionary Has a go at Defining 'Inner Beauty'.

inner beauty

Beauty on the inside; being "nice" and considerate to all. Is commonly confused with "what ugly people say to make themselves feel better", which is incorrect.
Someone who truly loves you will accept you for your inner beauty, not for what you look like.

Inner Beauty
Inner beauty basically means being a generally good person. Being kind, honest, etc.

Many people think inner beauty is just a phrase "used for ugly people to make them feel better about themselves." People who think that are sorely mistaken.

Not all people who have inner beauty are "ugly," in fact, many people with inner beauty also have outer beauty. So you can't just look at someone and know if they have inner beauty, you have to get to know them first.
Ever heard the phrase, "It's what's on the inside that counts"? It's true.

She doesn't have any inner beauty, the only thing she has is her looks.

inner beauty

A term ugly, undesirable and inadequate people use to make themselves feel less ugly, more desirable and sexually adequate. This phrase goes alone the lines of adages such as, "Looks are only skin deep," and "It's what's on the inside that counts," although everyone knows the adage should really be, "It's what's on the outside that counts."
"Inner beauty won't get you laid." -Omega-Jerry

Any advances on these? I think yes.

I am presenting my documentary on 'The Perception of Beauty and its Affect on Attraction'.

In my documentary I am going to provide detailed statistics on the various perceptions of beauty such as:
  • Male perception
  • Female perception
  • Teenage perception
  • Adult perception
  • Elderly perception
  • Media perception

I will also talk about the different kinds of beauty that may be perceived like physical beauty and 'inner' beauty.

To do all this I will research information via the web and through a survey I will distribute to a wide range of people.

Poems About Beauty

What Is Beautiful?

by thefadingscene

When you tell me
That I'm so beautiful that you could cry
I can't help but wonder what beautiful means
If you see beauty in the same way I do.

Beauty is...
sunlight
Whether it be glittering on teardrops,
Making a rainbow while water falls from above,
Setting behind the tallest mountain,
Rising on a perfect morning,
Or shining into your window and illuminating your face

Beauty is...
every color in the world
The brown in those eyes
The green of the grass and trees surrounding us
The pink of rosy cheeks on a cold winter morning
The pure brilliance of everything

Beauty is...
within every season
Summer's long days shining with so much joy
Autumn's changing of the leaves
Winter's illusion of innocence the snow casts upon the earth
Spring's new life and dreams

Beauty is...
beauty is empty
It's empty space
and empty eyes
and empty words
and that empty feeling that is left inside when Love turns his back.

Beauty is...
undefinable
Is it truly in the eyes of the beholder?
Or is it something that is only given to the most deserving of souls?

I fail to see what you see
Because when I try to look into my own eyes...into my own face
I can't see past my imperfections and fears

Lend me your eyes, Love...
So I can know what beautiful means.

Unmasked

Eyelashes that resist all logic,
curl their way to the sky.
Eyes that flow with the deepest blues,
seem to hold the question 'why?'

Slender hands with a steady sweep,
shape artwork into life.
Lips that spill an occasional laugh,
kept secret, and not rife.

A smile that warms the whole of me,
just to see it worn.
A heart that pretends to be made of stone,
may not be so forlorn.

A mind that hides behind a mask,
made of thorns and tears.
You might think it's just a joke,
but, nonetheless,
she cares.

True Beauty

Forma, belleza, schoonheid
No matter how you say it, it only means one thing
You ask me what it means exactly,
Listen up, and I'll tell you

It's not what you see in the magazines
Blonde hair, blue eyes.
that's all a lie.

Forma, belleza, schoonheid
It's a light within the heart,
You have to look to find it,
You have to search the soul.

Some people think it's just skin deep,
But they don't know the truth.
There's only a few who see it there.
There's only a few who really try.

It's hidden in the eyes of the beholder,
It's hidden within their heart.
It's hidden within their soul,
It brings light to life of others,

It makes me sad to think,
That only a few really try,
That only a few see it there.
So do me a favor

Look for the
Forma, belleza, schoonheid
The beauty, in every single soul you meet.

Waist to Hip Ratio Calculator

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/waist-to-hip-ratio-calculator/

See if you have the perfect 0.7inch ratio :P

Hip to Waist Ratio and Feminine Beauty

A study was done asking men from diverse cultures to rank photographs of women of varying weights and proportions from most attractive to least attractive. The results were virtually consistent across all cultures: Men found women with a waist to hip ratio of .70 the most attractive irrespective of weight.

So how do you know what your hip to waist ratio is? Divide your waist measurement by your hip measurement. For example if your waist is 28 inches and your hips are 39 inches, divide 28 by 39 to find your waist to hip ratio of .72. If you fall anywhere between .60 and .70, you are what most people would consider within the “ideal” range. Consider the measurements 36-24-36, that is a wait to hip ratio of .67.

So how does your upper body play into all of this? In another study, men were shown two series of pictures of the same woman with relatively well-balanced shoulders, bust and hips. In the first series (see “a” below) the model’s waist was digitally altered (made smaller) to increase the hip to waist ratio. In the series, men choose the smallest hip to waist ratio of .6 as the most attractive.

In the second series (see “b” below), the model’s hips were digitally altered (made larger) to increase the hip to waist ratio. In this series, men choose .7 as the most attractive, demonstrating that balance between the upper and lower body in addition to hip to waist ratio plays an important role in perceived female attractiveness.

These studies support the fact that achieving balance in your upper and lower body, while creating a defined waist results in the most attractive effect. So choose clothes wisely that will help to achieve this look. Visit our body shape calculator to determine your body type and to find out how to dress your body shape.

The Math Behind Beauty

http://discovermagazine.com/2007/jun/blinded-by-science/

 Marylin Monroe

The golden ratio, briefly, is the proportional relationship between two lines a and b such that (a + b) is to a as a is to b; in other words, the ratio between the whole and one of its parts is the same as the ratio between its two parts. This doesn’t sound like much in algebra form (a/b = (a + b)/a) and still less when expressed as a decimal (1:1.61814). But draw a rectangle—or build a Parthenon—with sides of a and b, and the sheer cosmic rightness of the thing leaps out at you. If you were to be stranded on a desert island with one particular rectangle, that’s the one you’d go with. Palpably, it’s the first rectangle that occurred to God when he realized he needed another four-sided, right-angled shape to complement his juvenile masterpiece, the square.

Most Attractive Women?

Here we have the top 5 most attractive women.

Maybe..I wouldn't actually know..

1. Elizabeth Taylor

2. Milla Jovovich

3. Freida Pinto

4. Ava Gardner

5. Marilyn Monroe

Seeing these...I'm not sure how correct they are. My being a woman of the heterosexual group, what I think is pretty or attractive in the female population...probably isn't.

BUT.

When I see
32. Megan Fox
I kind of want to tear my eyes out. Her features seem creepy and alien..like her face wants to wrap my soul in space gunk and then devour it.

Just saying.

Moving further down I found one girl who seemed very pretty...I really didn't think she belonged quite so far down the list.
34. Halle Berry
I think she's pretty because of all the natural earth tones. But mneh...what do I know?

How come all the most attractive people in the world are celebrities?
What about the rest of the world's population?
Where are they?

Scientific Beauty

Florence Colgate

Florence Colgate has the most naturally perfect face, according to British lifestyle and entertainment show ‘Lorraine’.

According to The Daily Mail, a woman’s face is said to be most attractive when the distance between her pupils is just under half of the distance between her ears. Colgate scored a 44% ratio.

The distance between a woman’s eyes and mouth should be just over one-third the measurement of her hairline to chin. Colgate scored a 32.8% ratio.

“Florence has all the classic signs of beauty,” Carmen Lefèvre, of
The Perception Lab at the University of St Andrews’ School of Psychology, told The Daily Mail. “She has large eyes, high cheekbones, full lips and a fair complexion. Symmetry appears to be a very important cue to attractiveness.”

“Although we don’t realize it in everyday interactions, in most people’s faces the right and left half are actually quite different.”

The blue-eyed blonde—who’s currently studying ‘A’-levels at the Dover Grammar School, and works part-time at a seaside chip shop in Deal, Kent—has never had any plastic surgery or chemical enhancements, and normally wears only light foundation, mascara, concealer.

For the natural beauty contest ‘Lorraine: Naked’ (where no make-up or cosmetic enhancements of any kind were allowed), Colgate won a trip to a London model agency and will be featured on billboards and posters in beauty and health retailer Superdrug stores.

Colgate told The Daily Mail that she would love to have a career in modelling but “is currently studying business, geography and psychology, and intends to do business management at university.”

“Women should not have to feel that they have to wear makeup,” Colgate said. “I hope people will look at me and think they don’t need to. I’m very happy with the way I look and I would never have any plastic surgery or Botox.”

Can science define beauty, in your opinion?

Most Attractive Men?

Okay...so this is the top 5 most beautiful men.

Apparently.

1. Chris Hemsworth

2. Taylor Kitsch

3. Ryan Reynolds

4. Ian Somerhalder

5. Hugh Jackman

I must admit I was shocked... I thought maybe, based on the number of women who seem to swoon at his image,
 8. Orlando Bloom
would have been at least third...

And
 18. Johnny Depp
somewhere up there too.

But what shocked me most of all...
 23. Colin Farrell
TWENTY THIRD??!
I demand a rematch!
Heheh...that's the problem with lists..

Hardly anybody will have the same people in the same order.

What is beauty?

Adherence to social consensus + Genetic Fitness = Physical beauty

Social consensus will be things like the current body size preferences, fashion/adornment preferences, and so on. Genetic Fitness is WHR, facial symmetry, and things like that.
So take a genetically fit (‘biologically attractive’) woman, and throw her in any space and time. Provided she can match up to the status quo of that time, she’ll always be a catch. And even if she didn’t match up, she’d probably be seen as attractive to some extent. Likewise, a woman who isn’t as genetically attractive can ‘trade up’ by adhering to the social consensus.
In other words, take Jessica Alba, and fatten her up, or use brass rings to make her neck seem longer, or pluck her hair line back and make her skin pale – and she’d still be considered beautiful in Ghana, Northern Thailand, or Elizabethan England, respectively. Do all three, of course, and she’d be an absolute smash in a goth club.

Beauty, Attraction, and Love: The Role of Physical Attractiveness

Many years ago, I did research on the meaning of physical beauty. It was disheartening because the only conclusion I could reach is that its effects were protean and powerful. My subjects were all young people and I wonder how the results might have changed if I had a broader group. In the group that I did study, however, there was a concordance on the characteristics that compose beauty, at least within our culture. And the number of judgments that good looks affect is downright frightening. Beauty makes people seem smarter, more persuasive, more likely to be right, nicer, and, of course, more sought after.
Is there consensus on beauty? More, perhaps than people like to think. Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but most beholders look for much the same things. In research about what characteristics are considered beautiful, one factor always dominates -- symmetry. Symmetrical faces (and bodies) are judged to be more attractive tha assymetric ones. There are other factors, of course, but it is easy to imagine that these nearly universal characteristics that are judged attractive, are those that betoken good health. The evolutionary pressure for that is obvious. Selection in mates is maintained in evolution if the preferred elements are determined by good health and advantageous physical attributes. So there is a built in bias toward features that are correlated with health. Fortunately, although there is pretty high consensus, there is still enough variability in individual concepts of beauty that we do not all seek exactly the same people.

    My Documentary Topic

I am thinking of making my documentary on 'The Perception of Beauty' for teenagers vs. adults, male vs. female. I am hoping to gather statistics on what males think is beautiful and what females think males think is beautiful, and so on. I will create a survey to collect these stats and will devise an interestion documentary based on these results.
I will soon post my survey and some information from the internet.
